Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated and the poorest countries in the world. Situated on the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh borders on India and Burma. Its capital Dhaka is inhabited by about 7 million people (according to data from 2013, the urban agglomerations are estimated at 14.3 million). The Buriganga River flows through the southwestern edge of Dhaki. Its average depth is 7.6 metres and its maximum depth is 18 metres.
