Printing greeting cards what to pay attention to

Sending Christmas and greeting cards to your friends, family and friends is a very nice gesture. In times when we only have time to send a copy of a social networking message to all our loved ones at the same time, the cards are really impressive. But how do you make sure they look special and look great? This question will be answered by specialists from .
Basic specifications for a greeting card design
If you create your own project files and do not intend to use general templates or patterns available on the Internet, it is important that you follow the guidelines that will be imposed on you by the printing house. Sticking to the basic design specifications is extremely important to ensure smooth operation.
An extremely important element here is the proper preparation of the file. Not all extensions allow you to get a beautiful image after printing – they show images that look good on a monitor, but in reality the same image may be smeared or even in different colors. So it’s worth to stick to the usual patterns, so as not to waste your time and nerves. So pay attention to it:
bleeds, internal margins and font size (remember that the standard 12 for greeting cards will not look good, while the huge letters will disturb the whole aesthetics),
CMYK colour and shade patterns (not RGB!),
resolution of the image and dpi,
Embedding fonts,
include all images in the file,
use of images and other content that is not protected by copyright (in this case you can expect that the printing house will refuse to fulfill such an order),
Select PDF or similar files.
Please note that if you do not follow these guidelines, you may be delayed in printing. In professional printers such as, for example, your order will not be started if the file does not meet the standards. This way you can be sure that you will not receive cards that do not look like you initially assumed.
How to create a universal greeting card?
If you are just beginning your adventure with the creation of Christmas cards and greeting cards, it is worthwhile to first focus on the basics. Before you create the first pattern:
1. set the dimensions of your project to: 6,5 „x 9,25”
The final size of the card will be: 6,25 „x 9” (flat) / 6.25 “x 4.5” (folded)
Internal margin (project area): 0,25 in the cutting line
Since cropping lines may vary slightly, be sure not to place text or images around them. Be sure to keep at least 2 mm of free space.
Bleed: 0.125 beyond the trimming edge
If you want your background to cover the entire sheet of paper (you don’t even want minimal margins), stretch all the background images or colors beyond the line of finish.
Also check out the popular dimensions in the table below:
Now you can put selected images and other content on a sheet of paper. If you decide to print on both sides, you can also add wishes on the inside pages. Now all you need to do is send the file to JKB Print Printing House – Christmas, which will quickly, on time and at a good price fulfill your order.
