Number portability between operators

Number portability between operators

In order to start using VoIP services, it is enough to establish cooperation with one of the many Internet telephony service providers present on the market. However, the issue that is important in this case is numbering. Usually we already use fixed-line telephony services and numbers that have been assigned to us. Most often, when changing the provider of the telephone service, we want to continue to use the same numbering. Nowadays, thanks to appropriate legal regulations, it is not a problem to transfer numbers from the existing fixed telephony provider to the Internet telephony provider or between VoIP operators. We only need to make sure that the future service provider is handling the process.
The numbering portability process should be initiated by the VoIP service provider, which, if numbering portability is ensured, also has established numbering portability paths. First of all, the process of formal numbering portability is implemented, in which information about the numbering owner and his rights to dispose of it is verified, but it does not matter whether the numbers were assigned to analogue (PSTN) or digital (ISDN) lines.
If the formal process is completed positively, the further part of the process is carried out, consisting in technical implementation of transferring numbers to a new service provider. As a result, after successful numbering migration between operators, the user has the possibility to dispose of the numbering in his administrative panel and combine it with services provided to him by the Internet telephony operator.
