Is it worthwhile to heat with a heat pump

It is said that heat pumps are among the most efficient and environmentally friendly systems for heating and hot water production in homes. Regardless of the season, they use solar energy stored in the ground, groundwater and atmospheric air.
Let’s start with a heat pump with ground exchanger (see also plate heat exchangers). It can provide sufficient heat to heat rooms to 21.5-22.5°C (if the user has chosen this optimum). The basis for this is certainly the right choice of power. For sure, we should pay attention to where we intend to place our device. Due to its size, such a pump stands in a technical room. Apart from it, we should also place a domestic hot water tank and a second tank, called a heat buffer.
Heat pump and bills
Everyone who owns a pump tries to use it as economically as possible. It is not only important to regulate the device; it is also important to set different daily temperatures. An example of this type of solution is to set the pump so that it heats up to its maximum at night, when the current tariff is cheaper, and during the day it switches on periodically to heat up the interior.
Another solution may be to set the pump so that on days when we are at work, the day temperature reaches 21°C from 2 p.m., so that the interiors can warm up before we return home. Then it can stop working at 11 p.m. (when the household goes to bed) and at 3 or 4 a.m. when the temperature drops to 20°C, it can start working again. On weekends, however, when everyone is home, the pump would run from 8 am to 11 pm.
Another way to reduce electricity costs could be to use a second tariff – not only the night tariff but also the day tariff between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The only condition for this should be to stop other power loads such as washing machines, dishwashers, irons and vacuum cleaners.
Can the heat pump be combined with other heaters?
If there are other heating devices in operation in addition to the heat pump, you need to know that the cost of such heating may vary, because in addition to the heat pump, another device also draws energy from the heat pump. The costs of such a solution are usually higher, because most often a water heater is used, which consumes a lot of energy, which translates into a higher cost of heat exploitation. It is best if the pump operates independently in the largest possible range.
