Installation of car speakers
Factory sound system is often not at a good level, so if you are a music lover or just “didn’t step on your ear” you should be interested in a possible modification of the audio system in your car.
Unfortunately, completely new cars are not free from the problem. Speakers are the most important element you should pay attention to, including their mounting (whether they are vibrating, etc.) – they are responsible for the depth and clarity of the music you listen to. Another issue is their number and technical parameters, which should be selected in such a way as to ensure the spatial propagation of sound. It is worth noting the quality of the cables, because they also have a huge impact on the work of the speakers. Deciding to improve the sound of your car it is worth to visit a professional point “car audio”, where they honestly check the quality of the mounted beam in the car and ultimately recommend replacing the wiring. The range of services must also include, among other things, the volume control of the mounted speakers and the tuning of the bass and treble – so that the whole thing plays at a sufficiently high level.
If you decide to change the speakers yourself, you should pay attention to their location and size (including the measurement of the mounting depth). Sometimes it is necessary to mount the distance in case of deep speakers.
The diameters of the loudspeakers you encounter:
– 87, 100, 120, 130, 165, 200, 250 [mm] – speakers of classic external design, whose difference in diameter translates to a large extent into the volume of the game and its sound quality. Of course, this is not always the case, and it depends on which class and manufacturer of particular models you would like to compare.
– 4×6, 5×7, 6×9 – oval speakers, are usually mounted on the rear shelf (it is worthwhile to take a look at reputable models, if those mounted in the car do not meet the requirements set for them).
The optimal size for mounting in the front door is 165mm diameter speakers, due to the huge selection of models available on the market and the quality of sound that comes out of them. Writing directly this size allows you to get good bass in the standard tonal range. If the factory installed speakers are smaller – you should think about the problem and possibly modify the mounting holes (because replacing the speakers for the better, but the same diameter probably will not bring any colossal changes in the sound system). The same is true for rear doors and rear speakers. The last ones to be replaced are oval speakers located on the rear shelf in the car (usually it is a size of 6×9, which guarantees a real improvement in sound quality).
NOTE: even the highest quality loudspeakers must be sufficiently solidly seated to produce truly clear sound. The chamber in which they are to be mounted must be tight, they must not vibrate. Another issue is just soundproofing the door in the vicinity of speakers, so as not to create a “resonance chamber”, which can effectively destroy all work.
