How to get rid of ants at home

Ants are harmless insects that live in the garden and eat pests such as aphids. They become a nuisance when they find their way to your house in search of food. Here are a few ways to get rid of ants at home.
Preventing ants from visiting your home
There’s no rule as to where ants will appear. The apartment can shine, it can also be completely neglected – ants can even get in through a microsplit in the window or a crack in the wall. To prevent the emergence of an ant army, there are a few small things to remember: taking out rubbish every day, storing food in lockable containers, washing dishes after meals, and regimented vacuuming and surface cleaning.
The best ways to get ants at home
But if ants have got inside and there are a lot of them and you don’t want to endlessly murder them, just try to scare them away with what you have in your home kitchen.
Spread citric acid or spray lemon juice where ants appear. Vinegar works the same way. Surprisingly, the natural way to do this is to spill coffee beans, the smell of which irritates ants.
If you don’t know where the plague has its nest, you can spill rice and the ants will take it to the nest. Rice will ferment and mold in the nest, killing ants. The orange peel is also toxic for the ants, and we can also spill it out – the substance emitted from the orange will destroy even the entire nest.
Among the ants irritating home specifics we can also mention yeast, which kills the nest effectively, as well as pepper (it can be spilled, mixed with water and sprayed). Baking soda may be effective, but it is enough to disperse it in places visited by ants.
Chemical formicides
When natural remedies have failed us, we may be tempted to use chemical anticides. However, we must remember our safety if there are pets and small children in our home. We must not allow them to become poisoned by the preparation.
The most common anticide product that can be found in almost every shop is the Anthrophone (food poison in the form of granules that ants take to the nest and eat there) effectively removes entire colonies. It is a cheap and easily accessible preparation, which should be dispersed in the place where ants appear.
